Going to follow the trend and start an appreciation thread for arguably our best player this season, Gary Dicker.

Over-looked by Poyet at the start of his reign, just look at the quality of player he has become. The style of play we currently use fits perfectly with the style of player he is. He looks so calm and composed on the ball and I have never felt nervous when he has had the ball in his possession recently.

In my eyes has not put a foot wrong yet and is definitely one of our best performers at the moment.

Has not been given the recognition he deserves from the media, only being given a 6 for his performance at the weekend by the News of the World.

That aside, we all know his quality, and we all know just how good a footballer he is. Thankyou Gary Dicker, you beauty

Agreed. Gary Dicker I salute you!

I will add plaudits and a row of kisses if you promise that the next thread in praise of one of our heroes is for the peerless Inigo Calderon.

Bet he's glad he made the move from Stockport.

He has played well. But in certain circumstances can seem to disappear from the game. At that time I'm grateful we have such a strong midfield squad. Take off a very talented payer - and bring on one who is equally talented but with different attributes. Keep it up Garry.

I'll join it. Quality player. If he was playing for Arsenal he would still fit in perfectly. Excellent passer of the ball, and knows the art of keeping a football. Only flip side is he should score more goals.

Hey, I started the Painter thread because the season has passed with little comment about him whereas Dicker is in the engine room and the spotlight:tantrum:

But yes, if I had been made differently I would have Dicker's babies

Well from memory although Dicker has had recognition from us, he has had next to nothing from other sources, and thought it was time to express that over the World Wide Web :lolol:

The most under-rated player we have. Pure quality and should be a regular in the side

His partnership with Sparrow in the midfield is probably the best midfield partnership I've ever seen at the club. Brilliant players, both can play a pass, both can make a tackle and both can create something for other players. It helped on saturday having Kishishev to sweep up behind them should they need him, but still, what a genius pair.

Dicker is absolute perfection in a 4-5-1. That really frees up him to do what he does best. I have been following Albion since 1988 and I can only remember a handful of players with the grace, composure and passing range that Dicker possesses. An absolute joy to watch.

Sadly, this being England, there are still many Brighton fans who fail to appreciate him - primarily because he didn't hare around like a lunatic launching people five foot in the air, or score 15 a season.

Those who understand football recognise what Dicker brings to the side, and it doesn't involve looking at the assists column every week to see who played the final pass before the ball was kicked in the goal.

Gem of a player.

Today, I am mostly agreeing with all this.

Dicker is the player George O'Callaghan ought to be, if he wasn't a fucknut.
