I think smilies have an importance since they can be used to signify the tone in which the typed word(s) is intended to be read.

Now, I'm not a big user of them at all which has, on occasion, meant a joke has been taken as being serious.

So - people should use them more than I do, but less than TC does. (Talking of which TC - if I see much more of you replying with a smilie only you know what will happen. If your post adds nothing to the discussion - don't make it)

If I don't make my posts, people will not know how many smilies is too much. You tell them to use less than me, what if I have to stop using them? ??? :lolol:

The point is:

- replying to a thread with just a/some smilie(s) does not add anything to the discussion in any shape or form.

- doing this continually is very poor form.

- if you are participating in a discussion and feel a smilie will add some emphasis or emotion to what you have said, then use one.

In short: just don't keep f***ing replying with only a smilie or two.

I agree. He of 19 posts obviously has enough experience of NSC to know their full worth.

KEEP THE SMILEYS!
