"We thought you'd rather that than the money."
"Yeah, right. I'd have only spent it on a huge inflatable cock anyway."

I was wetting myself. Seen them all before, but still very funny.

When Gareth is asking questions in the quiz.

Tim: "Gareth, are all these questions about war?"

Gareth: "No, there's one on Tennies and another on the Suez Canal."

Mumbling in the audience.

Gareht: "OK, question three, which stretch of water connects..."

It is exceptionally well written and very funny.

Finchy was a classic last night - "while your down there"

Showed last night's episode to my American wife who I thought would never get it. Clearly I misjudged her as she was falling about watching it. Not all Americans are brain dead.

The brief, oh so subtle shot of Gareth passing through camara in the sidecar is one of the most pant wetting moments of my life.
Superb.
2nd series just started over here, and I have the 1st dvd on order.

Yesterday she understood football, today it's The Office. You sure she's not really a Brit, bhaexpress?

She has fours kids by two pervious marriages (the last one adopted). But for that she'd be more than happy to live here. She knows that America is not the promised land that many Americans think it is. It only seems that way if you're a refugee from a third world country. Still, I can buy a house with a pool over there for less than the price of a one bed falt here in Worthing. I'll also get to own a bloody great V8 engined Ford Mustang, there's pros and cons.

The Office is the nuts. It gets better everytime you watch it as you pick up other little things. Bought Pheonix Nights Series 2 yesterday and Im afraid to say I think thats better than the office. I know its not everybody's cup of tea but I think its slightly funnier.

Just announced this morning that they are going to make an All-American version of the office. Not too sure it will work though. The office preys on sarcasm, irony and great subtleties. No offence to our American friends but not always their strongest points.

Seagull USA - how has the English version gone down over there??

Well, my AMerican wife got it straight away which did surprise me as I said. I have to agree though, it's far too subtle for the average American pallette. You can bet that if an American version does get made it will be watered down (like their dreadful attempt as Absolutely Fabulous) and also the jokes will be telegraphed a good while before the punchline (yes, they'll have to have them). A canned laughter track is manditory as well.
