I consider the start of the season when Spurs sign a big name (who turns out shit)

From then on I can wait for the new season

Well, we won't have Wolves this year - they have already released their pre-season programme, which is a tour of Oz followed by an unamed international team visiting Molineux.

I'd settle for ANY league club above us

Oh and the reason it's an unamed International team is probably a bit like our testimonial unamed teams...it's because they haven't found a team who's agreed to play them yet..probably

In 2006, I went to an England v Portugal World Cup quarter final and Brighton v Worthing pre season friendly in the same week. That is a big come down but signifies the start of the season for me!

It has it's upsides, it's almost a home game for me and we get to have a look at our future stars - McCleod looked a class apart from what I saw of him in that game last season, I didn't realise that he always looked unfit though, I thought he'd just got a bit lardy in the off season

I guess it fun for Worthing though as their players try to cripple their league opponents.

Er, the WC 1/4 Final was on July 1st., as I was at a mate's wedding and had to bale to watch the game in a hole of a pub in Archway...

I thought the Worthing friendly was mid/late July!?

The few days leading up to the fixtures coming out is when I usually start to get excited.

The time from then until the first "real" game is excruciating!

I love the annual trip to Worthing, nothing better frankly.
