Don't know if anyone else saw what was happening in block J
of the South stand v Hull?
About 10 minutes in the second 45 a couple of stewards went
into a row about five behind me to confront some kids of about 15.
After asking one to turn his pockets out they found a bottle of
Stella.
He was duly marched out with his mates pleading for mercy.
Ten minutes later the stewards were back and while trying to
grab one kid by the arms the 15yr old tried to finish off the beer
he was drinking!!!
Needless to say everyone of the four or five kids were marched out.
The stewards were last seen going down the stairs with about six bottles of stella!!!
The kids did not harm anyone but it what if they had been some idiot who was older looking for a fight as the were drunk?

I must admit when I went in last night I thought it is a bit strange the stewards doing a bag search at the turnstiles, I wore a biggish coat last night and could have easily taken in half a dozen bottles, yet my daughter's friend had a small rucksack which was searched.

But back to the point, they knew they were not allowed to take in drink, whether they were of age or not, its a shame they were not chucked out before the game started.

No but legally you are not allowed to drink and watch a live league match (I believe)

They did something that drew the attention of the stewards though.
Shame, if they'd used their noddle and swigged the bottles quickly outside the ground they would have probably had a good night.

All aboard the weekly witch hunt.

For fucks sake they are fifteen and having a sly beer while watching the Albion.

How many posters on here snuck in the pub for a couple before matches when they were underage?

Harder to do that because of the new licensing laws so you are bound to get kids trying to find other ways round it.

Hardly going to get drunk on 6 beers between four of them are they?

They could have been thrown out for having bottles of anything. It's against the rules.

From a stewards point of view a group of 15 year olds all on wife beater, so presuabally drunk, with Glass bottles, and Hull attacking our end, potentially a bottle on head meeting, and like Kinky said why should they be allowed to drink and every one else who wants to have to make do until full time.

You can drink if you are watching liveon TV ;-) but indeedy, it's against FA regulations to go pitchside with an alcoholic drink.

A similar thing happened to me at mansfield once when i was 15. We'd just been kicked out of the pub near the ground (early doors is it?) for being too young so went straight to the ground and nearly got kicked out by stewards for "underage drinking".(we weren't drinking in the ground though)
At the end of the day you can't take bottles in the ground whatever your age.
