Just watching it now, the bloke who admits he has only been baking for a year, why would he want to go on Bake Off ? He has a decent haircut and a nice bit of stubble, is this a career move ?

The Achy Breaky Heart parody at the start was nowhere near as funny as the Boris one last year.

Looks like Jurgen the German lives in Brighton.

Are you sure that he won't look quite promising in the early episodes, then struggle with fitness, fail to make much of an impact, before giving an interview in his home country saying that he wants to leave the Bake Off because he's not being given the chances he deserves?

As an each way bet, I’d agree. I was also impressed with the young woman who did the lovely flower piping and the woman who did the bouquet for a showstopper.

Indeed... it looks like this series they have gone 2-1 on the female/male eye candy compared to normal years... The male eye candy " Chigs " looks like he has been selected by committee to tick as many of the female viewers boxes as possible.

After months of intrigue and debate, the cat is FINALLY out of the bag.

We can all breathe a massive sigh of relief to let out some built up tension, the wonderful Alison Hammond has been announced as new co-host.

Fantastic stuff.

Should've got Lottie back in the tent - would've guaranteed me tuning in that way

I honestly don't understand the appeal of Alison Hammond or how she keeps getting so much work
