for players with agents harbouring greater ambitions, how many have been succesful and who should have stayed with a big club?

I'll start with

Lawrenson - greener
Hammond - should have stayed with a big club [ shorten to stayed]

I thought this was going to be YET ANOTHER picture about the sprouting at the Amex... :-(

Steve Coppell
Peter Taylor (the second PT)
Peter Ward
The above should have stayed

Bobby Zamora, couldn't say no and left his heart with us. Still could come back!
Lawrenson, a bit difficult for him to want to stay, at the time. A bit of a plonker since though. He'll 'attach' himself with us again once we are golden and he's glibly reviewing our latest match on telly. Ironic since he chose to play for Ireland when he was "English as black pud" - but evident of someone who is apparently an opportunist only.

If he comes to Amex, someone ought to shit in his shoes!

He was from Preston, and never pretended he is anything other than a PNE fan, so I never understand the hostility he gets on NSC. Whenever he speaks of the Albion it is always positively, and if he spends more time talking about Liverpool and winning the league four times and the European Cup, is it that surprising, compared to getting promoted to the first division with the Albion?

This. Where does this myth that he's anti-Albion come from? I've never heard him say anything anti-Albion and speaks positively about us. John Gregory on the other hand ...

By the seaside in West Somerset
Joel Lynch - jury still out as he has made a couple of appearances recently but still not a matchday squad regular - possibly would've been better staying

It's mainly because he has the highest profile of any ex Albion player or manager and he wasn't as heavily involved as some people would like although he was only here for three seasons. He's still arguably the best player to play for us and to fair to the man he has been very positive about Brighton. He comments on Premier League football and thus doesn't get much opportunity to mention us. Michael Robinson as most people now is a huge media pundit in Spain and I wonder if he too gets much chance to mention us. In fact I wonder if either will be at the first game at the Amex,

Kazim-Richards went onto be successful for Turkish clubs in the league and the Champions League and has won caps for the Turkey national team.

I don't see how he should have stayed...
