what is it with brighton fans and their hostility to glenn. although feelings seem to be getting better and people have started to realise he is fantastic and probably our best player, i would like to see more people appreciate the guy's talents by singing positive songs about the lad and praising him from the stands. after his wonder goal at leeds he came over to the fans and people were not, in my eyes, giving enough praise. does anyone else have the same feeling? surely we want to encourage him as I think fans treatment is a big factor in deciding to stay or move on

He`ll be off just after unwrapping his last xmas presents. Or at least he should be if he`s got any sense.

the sad thing is, is that as soon as he is gone we will realise what we had. The fans can do something about his and involve him more in their songs. even after his hatrick at the withdean, and he came over for a drink, noone really praised the lad. we need to make more of an effort as fans if we want to keep glenn in the blue and white

Totally agree, but I doubt there would have been giving many giving praise after the Leeds game. Most were on their way out and we were hardly going to go mad after a 93 minute consulation goal. No matter how good it was!

Right here, right now
Look at the ovation the Scunthorpe fella got when he was substituted after scoring a hat trick against us. Much more than Murray got.

What has Murray got to do to win over the fans?

He is clearly the most talented player at the club at the moment and the sooner the Murray haters realise that the better.

He can't always have a good game if the service isn't there for him so get off his back and show some appreciation.

The fact that we're even having this debate shows that fans are ambivalent towards the player. For what it's worth, I thought he had a normal ratio of off-sides to his name on Saturday, and he didn't display any obvious laziness. If I had a downer on the fellow I might have had a pop at him not scoring against the bottom side. But I don't. So I didn't.

Ridiculous over-exaggeration. There have been plenty of threads on NSC supporting him and making a similar point to yours. So he's very much appreciated by a lot of people on NSC at least.

the sad thing is, is that as soon as he is gone we will realise what we had.

A great many people realise how good he is already and have made that point many times. You're re-working old and previously debunked arguments for no obvious reason.

He hasn't got the win a lot of the fans over - a lot of them have been behind him from the start or have been won over. So what is your point?

If you want a small but vocal band of moaners to stop picking on a player - that's never going to happen. People like that are in every club and they will never see the positive points about a player they have decided to dislike. hey will constantly peddle to "lazy, slow, off-side" myths for ever even though a great many right-minded Albion fans realised that this is just total cock.

Time to stop generalising about "Brighton fans and their hostility to Glenn" when it is clearly just not the case.

TRHK, I fully appreciate that not ALL fans have not been hostile to Glenn but I have actually never seen a single fan or group of fans praise Glenn from the stands, even when he scores a hatrick or a superb solo goal against leeds. Compare this to Forster last season, or opposition fans and I think have a point. I am just balancing the "appreciators" against the seeming "non-appreciators" and the latter certainly outweigh the former. That is not a generalisation. As to rehashing old arguments, I am using two very recent games, where Glenn was absolutely superb. You would think that the responses from MOST OF the fans would change after these performances but I haven't witnessed this. Correct me if I am missing something of course

Completely agree! Some players have fans singing about them, whether they play well or not. People were singing about Robinson last night, when 1. he wasn't even on the pitch and 2. he's shit, whereas Murray, a player with great talent gets next to nothing. It makes me annoyed, but it won't change, Murray is not one of those players the fans will sing about, and if he does go those idiots will know what they missed (actually they're so biased they'll probably think good riddance).

He was cheered like mad when he scored his hat-trick v Cheltenham.

I agree that he doesn't seem to have a bond with the crowd yet, but I don't agree that he isn't appreciated.
