Agreed with the one in Mile Oak, chinese is nice and often get fish 'n chips.....and they pile the chips on..marvelous!

I would'nt mind being a Health & Safety Officer or something, might job hunt for that later.

Gars is lovely!

i know someone that used to do licencing for bars and restaurants in brighton and after spending years looking in kitchens in preston street he won't go anywhere NEAR the place, and advises everyone he knows to do the same!!

a little tip for those of you wanting to eat in a resturant in preston street on the left hand side going up the road.

go round the back to little preston street, the doors are usally open in the summer and you can see the state of the kitchens.

I eat in the aberdeen steak house, never had a problem in there.

i do think too many people are scaremongering on preston street resturants, most are ok .

Worthing Borough Council have been looking for one of these for ages. Not sure if it is still being advertised but you might want to ring 01903 239999 to find out

Funny thing is , we don't apply any of the same standards abroad. Anywhere you eat that's not actually in the middle of a Safe northern European city will have lizards scuttling under your feet or cats drooling about eighteen inches from your table or flies buzzing about the vicinity of the Catch Of The Day or the moussaka or or the kepap or the Chicken Xacuti. And do we complain or even care? No. No we don't. :nono:

On the whole, I'd tend to go along with the wise man that said 'Whatever Does Not Kill Me, Makes Me Stronger'. Tho has to be said that , when that selfsame wise man came down with a really bad dose of the squits, he was curiously unavailable for comment...

Good call on the Aberdeen Steak House.

All of the steaks are excellent, with fillet probably the their very best.

Order the fried onion rings for a heart stopping cholesteral rich treat.

Yum bloody yum.

:clap2:

The Emporer of China in the Marina was recommended to us.

We went there in April and we weren't disappointed. The food was good and the service excellent. It isn't that expensive either.

I would agree with both sentiments, an excellent restaurant.

Is that the one on the junk boat ?

If so superb restaurant - the China Garden is bloody expensive and won't be visited ever now.

No, it is a different one. The one we went to is just past Asda and upstairs on the right hand side.

Apparently the junk boat one is not as nice so we have been told.

The junk boat one is nice, but the food is not a patch on the new one (Emperor of China). The service is really very good too. I've turned up past 11.30 on a Saturday night and they give you a warm welcome and don't rush you. The last time we went, we got out about 2.00 a.m.
