Does anybody know what the process is after the appeal deadline has gone.

Assuming that there are no appeals as expected, do we get another letter of confirmation from the government that no appeal was made and final planning permission is granted. Or was that letter the final confirmation?

I would assume no further correspondence is needed from the Government. They;ve granted it in their last letter, so unless anyone steps forward to ague the toss before Sept 4th, that letter stands. And off we go.

Do they do it deliberately just to annoy us? Why do things take so long?
Sometimes, some people put something in right on deadline, or very occasionally, just after deadline. That has to be dealt with.

However, as Lord B says, there are thousands of cases going through at any one time. They don't just fish out the Falmer one on September 4th and say 'OK'. They'll get back to Tony Allen (the planners' solicitor) at the first opportunity, which will be a few days afterwards.

Well if its after the deadline, then surely its too late? No?

I'd say all they need to do is look at the application on deadline day...

1/ Is there any objections ?
2/ Check Inbox......Oh look its empty ?
3/ Email out of politeness, we have no objections.
4/ Job done!

But what do I know!

Your issue comes in at point 2. They won't check the file until they are ready. Then they have to write to everyone.
