The recorded message for the ticket office is referring to it as The Amex as well now (as in "there are no details yet for season tickets at The Amex"). I'm liking.

Somebody will be on the phone from 'AMEX' giving them a swift boot up the a**e pretty soon I would think then!

Why?

They call themselves Amex often enough. They may well prefer to hear it called "The AMEX" but accepted the official name should be the full title, and include "Community Stadium."

I worked with Amex for a few years and never heard anyone in marketing refer to the company as Amex Gritt32. Maybe things have changed but I suspect the brand guardians would be all over this like a rash.

Correct, I think the 'Community Stadium' thing is just as important as well. Remember it's American Express who decides how you the club refers to the stadium now.

I worked there from 97-2003 and we always referred to ourselves as Amex. The building on Edward Street is even called 'Amex House'...

I'm sure you're right. But when I worked for an ad agency and we worked on the amex (as we called it!!) account, the Amex folk never ever called the company Amex. S'all I'm saying.
