Its caught on with me.
I don't refer to it as anything else now. Unless someone happens to ask me where it is, I'll always just be calling it the Amex.

So people won't call it The Amex, despite that being pretty much it's name, but they will refer to it as the NEW GOLDSTONE or HOME?! You've had a shocker there!

"Aye - DesprateSeagull has gotta be disappointed wi' that. Shockin' post. Absolutely shockin'."

What happens in 5yrs time when Amex decide they don't want to sponsor the stadium any more and we end up with some other crappy name which subsequently changes every few years. For me it needs a name with more longevity, which is why I will continue to refer to it as Falmer.

They should have done what Southampton have and called it, for example, the Amex Falmer Stadium. That way if the sponsors do change there's always something in the name that distinguishes where it is. The word 'Community' doesn't do that.

It's only just brought it home to me seeing that picture, the potential for the sports double-header a la Goldstone and greyhounds. Races then evening kick-off. Marvellous. Or the other way round, if there are Saturday evening races at Brighton these days.

I've long thought that a tie up with the Greyhounds (we have a Corals tie now) where Corals could be a P&R site. It's a short ride along the bypass and might suit those like the Gaffer who feels public transport is lacking in his area around the north end of Hove/Hangleton/Portslade.

Corals could then offer deals to those who might want to spend an evening at the dogs after the match, something I used to do back in the Goldstone days.
