Apparently the men's team are having aren't having a big tour this year, they are having a small training camp in mainland Europe (Germany, Austria and Spain some of the countries being thrown around). However it may be that if we do have any games on this training camp that they may be played behind closed doors

I've love to see us play where our players are from, like last year

We've got loads of Dutch so let's play a game there.

Next year Cameroon or Gambia

It will make f*** all money, but might be one of those touches which shows the players what our club is about.

I heard that Lewes FC are after funds during the summer months - a friendly back at the Dripping Pan (always think that's a great name for a provincial football ground!) would be good, and would raise some decent money.

Over the years plenty of Sussex clubs have been dying on their arse and a friendly against the Albion would have been lucrative but didn’t happen. Is there any particular reason why this would happen?

A match between the Albion & Lewes FC or we could have another Battle of Lewes 762 years later. So Baron de Montfort didn't have to sign "Henry III, I am, I am."

They did have a friendly a few years ago (can't remember when) at the Pan. There was also one in Burgess Hill (?) iirc

Indeed, yes I recall a number of friendlies against local sides but they were “the way the cookie crumbled” so to speak rather than a specific fund raiser.

Ironically, (and I’m not blaming The Albion) getting on for about 10 years ago Peacehaven had a pre season friendly against a strong Luton Town side as a bit of a fundraiser. However Lewes then announced a friendly against the Albion on the same day. It probably halved our attendance. (I wasn’t involved in the running of the club then so I’m unaware of how this worked out or if there were any attempts to switch to the Sunday or whatever)

Last thing we need is our injury prone squad playing against non-league cloggers when they aren’t fully fit.
