I'm glad.
It was a disaster waiting to happen. Broken toe, fractured cheekbone, floating bone in the knee. The guy was f***ed before we started, and would have been playing at 70% (at best). Its almost inevitable he would have broken down during the game. How costly that could have ended up, who knows. We cannot AFFORD to carry a central defender in this game. Its a no-brainer, Campbell should always have played. Some of the decisions McClaren makes are really quite shocking. Yet again he has been damn LUCKY to have effectively had the decision taken out of his hands and made for him.

I think Campball - Ferdinand, or Richards - Ferdinand is a stronger central pairing anyway so not really fussed, especially as Terry wasn't 100%. Like Easy says, McClaren lucky again.
What is the point of having Shorey in the squad if you are not going to play him when you need a left back? When was the last time P Neville played there regularly for his club? Lescott is a great prospect but to give him his first start in such an important game outside of his most natural position would be very foolish. Shorey must start.

Neville is shite - how he has so many caps is beyond me. I can see Russia getting a pen today

Thats not really the case, He is a Very good Premiership player - however he doesnt quite have what it takes to make the step up.

He is in the squad because he can play in a number of Positions I guess.

I'm glad about this. I like Campbell and Ferdinand and hope they stick with them and leave Richards at right back.
