'Temporary' stands

Just been reading on another list (supporters direct) that Blackpools temporary stand partialy collapsed during the game against Luton on Saturday. Luckily no-one was injured but there have been complaints made to the footbal safety authorities about the use of these stands.

Someone has already raised the Withdean and asked aboutt he safety there. Thought you may like to know.

But are temp stands the next disaster waiting to happen?

Blackpools is a temporary stand constructed for the site, ours is more of a portable stand, hence it's journeys to the golf Open each summer. Should be okay, 6th season now:(

I didn't think they were that bad last season but with Blackpool having 2 problems in the space of 3 weeks, there was also a problem when we played there and a plank split, perhaps the 'authorities' may start to be a bit more strict :(

Perhaps they should be :(

Mine and Krispies seats have been loose since the beginning of the season, and we have alerted stewards etc.

Looking at the bolts, they appear to be the old bolts put back in. I always thought that bolts should be replaced each time something is stripped down.

This is a very serious issue. Aside from Blackpool didn't some temp stand collapse at some 'happy clappy' festival in Lincolnshire over the weekend.

If someone has raised this with the club what was with result and was an official statement made? If i'm paying over £400 quid for a season ticket i want to know that in relation to my temp seat that all H&S regulations are being rigidly adhered to and that there are stringent regular maintenance and checking schedules. With all the stamping feet those stands must take quite a battering! And of course Fatty Taxmans (sorry Pete) seat should have a weekly check!:clap2:

withdean is fine. my seat is lose too, and last year the barrier in front was lose, so you could lift it up and down. but nothing in 6 years shows it is safe

There are advantages to being in the North Stand then, knew there had to one (although it has a roof, I am close to the front and the roof only comes over 3/4 of the seats so is as wet as the South)

I like my seat at Withdean. Are there any other stadiums with reclining seats? When everyone in my row sits down my seat reclines about 4 inches! Wo Hoo!

On the downside when the same thing happens in the row infront my knees get crushed! Doh!
