Made the mistake of letting a mate potter about on my pc this afternoon when I was out, now I have a 'nastygirls' dialler stuck on the pc that refuses to be uninstalled. Anyone got any ideas (other than looking at it!)?

I let my flatmate use my computer when I went to the gym this afternoon and I got loads of spyware from porn sites!!

I checked the internet history and quite worringly there were JPegs of naked men up there aswell

You need Spybot from http://www.safer-networking.org/ . It removes diallers and all sorts of other crap from your system. Alot of it you probobly werent aware was there. I have been using it for ages and it does a good job. You can update it online, and it will immunise your PC from this sort of stuff as well. Its free too.

Ad-Aware

Be cautious of Ad-Aware. It will disable some programs that depend on pop-ups to work, such as Netpumper, and some versions of Kazaa (not Lite) though).

But you can set ad-aware up to ignore certain processes.

I used to have a problem with it disabling opera due to the adverts they used to use, but telling the programme to ignore these solved the problem.
