Any one been?

Jnr's 16th is approaching and obviously a party is out of the question.

Looking on that there t'internet I saw this and TBH was somewhat surprised as I had no idea there was such a thing even in Sussex let alone Lancing.

I'm just after someone to tell me it's a little more involved than Brooklands. bless it.

Very different to Brooklands, track x 25! Cant do it myself due to health but many from company have (with kids and work days out)- been there and watched, really good fun. Seen kids (late teens really) party there and they were buzzing - check how long it goes on for though.

Great thanks that's all I needed to hear.

It seems like they get 2 x 15 minute sessions.
But with the safety talk and performance review between runs it's about a couple of hours.

As said it seemed ideal I just wanted to make sure it wasn't the equivalent of the 'teacups ride'.

It's much better than Brooklands. Then again, pushing your mates around a Tesco carpark in trolleys is probably slightly better than Brooklands.

Probably

&

Slightly

Ohhhhh someone's bragging about their experience at Brooklands. :lolol:

I'd have gone with definitely and considerably myself!

Brighton Karting at Albourne is just great. Interesting outdoor track with flyover, as challenging as you want to make it. Professional marshalling and a good viewing platform. 10 mins up the A23 from Brighton.

I've not been to that one but went to Teamsport in Crawley recently for a 2 x 15min event with my slightly younger sons and it was great fun. Full speed driving is exhausting so although it doesn't sound much time it'll be enough.

This was on their 800m full track, over 3 levels, so let of different corners to learn, and I had several full laps where I didn't see another kart. The standard 400m layout over 2 levels wouldn't be nearly as much fun. Not sure how Lancing is laid out.

Similar - been to a few events at Crawley, brilliant fun.....and you're right, 15 mins non stop is bloody hard work

I’ve been there a couple of times this year, as took both of my boys and a couple of their mates for their birthdays. Really enjoyed it, well organised, karts and track were very good,.
Nice and competitive with timed laps etc.... they’ve got a bar and did some very basic food. Pizza, hot dogs etc etc

Value for money wise I thought it was spot on. You’ll be there for between an hour and 90 minutes..

One word of warning, your action to an extent will be based on the ability of the other drivers on the track. There was 8 of us but they put a further 4 people on our session, one of whom was a very young lad who bless him was hopeless and spent most of his time facing the wrong way or in the tyre barrier.... this in turn meant that we probably spent half of our 30 minutes (or more) on Amber or Red lights... very frustrating..

Unless you’re booking the whole session then there will be a bit of pot luck involved with others joining you.... ideal numbers 8 - 10 but if you’ve got more than that, then you may spend a fair bit of time on warning lights and get very few full throttle laps.

Maybe give them a call to clarify, they were very good when I needed to speak to them... your son will enjoy. Make sure you don’t let him beat you!,

Your son will think you are fun after all. It’s great and I visit regularly. Not the time of year for out door carting but having carted all over the country, other than Q Leisure, the Lancing track is the best in the area.

Try and enjoy yourself, (and spend some time off of NSC) assuming your son won’t be too embarrassed to have you tag along, it would do you the world of good. You miserable, old, bar steward haha

Make sure you get your line right in the third corner so you can floor it up the ramp or you’ll likely get stuck half way. (Assuming you’re a bit on the tubby side.)

.....this trolling is fun!! I can see why you enjoy it so much.)

Albourne is outside and much better than Lancing, A great track as Lincoln imp says, but obviously winter racing Will be harsh, if allowed

I did a 1hr enduro at Crawley, ouch.

Lancing is good, have been with my son a few times.

Lancing circuit is great. I got black flagged and sent to the pits for 're-education' during a feisty encounter through the hairpins at the far end. It was my son's 10 BDay party...:lolol:

Went a couple of years ago, the one thing that surprised me was how knackered I was afterwards!! Good fun and very well organised!
