Hull City manager Peter Taylor has confirmed Brighton goalkeeper Michel Kuipers will not be joining the League One side next season.

Kuipers, who played three games while on loan at the KC Stadium last season, has been linked with a move back to the club since Taylor dropped his interest in Portuguese shot-stopper Sergio Leite.

However, the Tigers boss says the 30-year-old Dutchman is out of his price range and will look elsewhere for an understudy to Boaz Myhill.

He told the Hull Daily Mail: "We do need a new goalie but I've promised the chairman I will stick to the budget he's given me.

"I haven't spoken to Michel, or to Brighton, but knowing him as I do, I would think he'd be priced out of our range.

"I've been very impressed with Boaz. He's my first choice and I honestly feel he can only get better and better. If Michel did leave Brighton, I'm sure he'd be looking to be first choice himself."

Interesting one. Does the price mean a transfer fee and/or wages. Hull seem to spend quite freely in their search for success. How much are Brighton paying Michel Kuipers?
