PETER Taylor is set to be unveiled as the new Crystal Palace manager at a press conference tomorrow (Tuesday).

The Hull City boss is due to take over the Selhurst Park hotseat following weeks of speculation about who would succeed Iain Dowie.

The former Leicester, Brighton and Gillingham manager is sure to be a popular choice with the Palace fans having played for the club for three years during the mid-70s.

He already has a good insight into the club having worked with the likes of Eagles youngsters Ben Watson, Tom Soares and Gary Borrowdale as the England Under-21 boss.

I would have preferred a Souness-McGhee duo, or Managerial Dream Team if you will.

Peter Taylor will do alright I suspect.

Always been a big fan of Taylor's since he was here but if he gets the scum promoted I'm gonna join the "got someone else's team promoted NSC clique" as it will obviously be Dowie who gets the credit, just like Adams and Pullis and the stadium at Hull got the credit for the last 4 promotions :p

I suppose this means a glut of u21 caps for palace players then, hopefully he'll repeat his acheivements at leicester rather than here , Hull & Gillingham

Very good at clubs where the expectation level is high for a good reason.

Not so good with clubs who are punching above their weigth, and let's face it, that's what Palace are doing if they come anywhere above 10th then they're punchiong above their weight.

Interesting.......he won't be able to just 'steady the ship' there. Might have to make a few decisions, we'll see.........

Hate to say it but I'll reckon he'll take them up next year.

So much for wanting to stay at Hull, where his heart is. Same old Taylor.

Good manager they have there. :censored:

agreed on your first point but not sure he's quite that good to be honest, lets hope he gets shafted by Jordan and takes them to a relagation spot
