Taylor eyes permanent Kuipers deal

Hull manager Peter Taylor is interested in signing Brighton goalkeeper Michel Kuipers, who is currently on loan at The KC Stadium.
The 29-year-old Dutchman signed for Taylor for one month as cover for the injured Alan Fettis.

And despite also having Paul Musselwhite on his books, Taylor admits that he could be tempted to make the deal permanent for Kuipers, who is not part of Steve Coppell's plans at The Withdean Stadium.

"I'm very interested in him," Taylor told the Hull Daily Mail. "He has a lot of ability, is very commanding and he's now got a chance to show everyone what he can do.

"We already have two very good keepers, but Michel will give us further competition in that area. If he comes and plays, and does well then who knows?

"He's a player I know very well and he was one of the reasons why Brighton managed to gain two promotions."

I can't see FDM dropping a Division he was good last season in Div 1.

Taylor can eye but that's where it ends.

" Not part of Coppells plans"??...........Is this a Naylor style piece of speculation, or an "off the record" quote by Taylor to the journo? Whatever, I have a hunch this could be the begining of the end for FDM at Withdean.

Come on Taylor, as your so astute in the transfer market :dunce: I reckon....Hmmmm....a bid of £1000000 should be enough to land your man....

For FDM there's the prospect of first team action and a decent stadium, but on the downside is the northern city of Hull.

Whether we like it or not, FDM does not seem to be rated by Coppell. No doubt he will be on his way soon. The price? No more that £50,000 I reckon although he's worth a lot more.

If they want him they will have to pay a hell of a lot more than that, anything short of £250k would be insulting.

If you really believed the spin by the club and that a permanent move was not the motive behind this loan deal then you really do wear blue and white spectacles I'm afraid.

Kuipers has been as important to us in the past 3 seasons as Bobby was, he may not have stolen the headlines or scored hatfulls of goals but his performances were consistently of the highest order. To suggest that we might part with him for 50k is folly, he should be worth at least 5 times that amount, if we do sell him to Hull then they should be prepared to pay a realistic sum for his services. Think you are right Zeb that he is not rated by Coppell, the arrival of Roberts suggests that, however there is a logic about having two excellent keepers at the club and making them fight for their place in the team, it is a fairly healthy situation for us to be in, even if it does end up with one player feeling left out.

Unless you're talking about keepers in the 'world class' bracket, the transfer value of keepers has always been low, and if FDM does go to Hull I can't see us getting much over £75,000 for him....if that.

if Coppell goes through with this, I'm sure he'll know something we dont(e.g: the injury has changed him, or something)
