Excellent. Forgive me but I have no great time for Cardiff City. But what those twats did was just cretinously stupid, IMHO, so undignified really.

Wasn't it Cardiff City that wanted a shirt of every English club so they could burn it or was that just hearsay?...

Cue pure and simple jibes.

Abort, retry, fail
Provocation and possible incitement of violence, I guess.

I thought it was quite funny, you would expect Cardiff to do the same sort of thing.

I wonder if Palace can be brought to justice for their 5-0 display. ;)

Hearsay. Sort of.

Not long after Sam Hammam took over at Ninian Park, he told the local press that he was appalled by the number of Welshmen he had seen wandering around the streets of South Wales wearing English Premiership clubs' replica shirts instead of Cardiff City shirts. He told journalists he was going to set up a scheme whereby football fans from the area could exchange their old Premiership club shirts for brand new City shirts. When asked what he was going to do with the old shirts, he said he was going to put them all in a skip and burn them.

Something like that anyway.

What do you reckon to this TLB - after all, you're supposedly the injured party...

I think this is potty, and I'd rather my local cops were doing something far more worthwhile. Those T-shirts are on sale, tweaked as appropriate, at virtually every football ground in the country. They are crass, but do we now arrest everyone who's ever sold or worn one?

I think it was the flag rather than the Tshirt which caused the offence but the two are being linked in the charges.

Imagine the outrage there would be right here on NSC if Palace were to win this year's Championship play-off final, and Andy Johnson was to wander around the pitch after the game with an English flag bearing the slogan 'f*** OFF BRIGHTON'.

I should point out that, personally, I couldn't care less about Sunday's incident. It amused me as it once again demonstrated what massive chips our friends down west have on their shoulders. After all, what other club would attempt to insult a Championship side after winning the Leyland DAF Freight Rover Truck LDV Autoglass Windscreens Sherpa Vans Shield Trophy? Only the Jacks.....

Fatty Trundle stated a couple of weeks ago that he could never play for Cardiff City. Somebody ought to tell him that, as things stand, he's not even good enough to play AGAINST Cardiff City!

That would annoy and amuse me at the same time - but I'd channel it into hating Johnson and Palace even more, and towards the next time we played them.

I wouldn't go all self-righteous about it and start calling the police. Mind you, based on one or two 'outraged' previous threads on here, I might be in the minority on that one.

To be honest one of the problems with this country is that we seem to have elevated people being offended into some sort of major crime. The flag may or may not have been offensive but I would far rather the Police were dealing with rapists, muggers and other low life rather than wasting my taxes on non-events.

Or nicking Cardiff fans who get stroppy because they can't get a beer.....:shootself

It's banter between two clubs who have a history, nothing special. You see those stickers in cars all the time, so why should the players be any different from the fans? Laugh it off and find something more important in life to get worried over.....

I'd agree with that 100%. I can't believe these Jack clowns have been arrested. That's way over the top, and a total waste of police resources.

That said, they obviously have to be dealt with by the football authorities. In my opinion, Tate should be given a one match ban, and Trundle should be made to walk around outside Ninian Park's Grange End entrance between 2pm and 3pm on Good Friday afternoon wearing his Swansea kit while carrying a big placard which reads 'f*** Off Cardiff'.

Seems fair to me.

How about the ENGLISH football association throw them both out of the ENGLISH league and everyone would be a lot happier.
