But there was a minute or so on the Meridian news.

Quote from Sporting Life site
Sussex moved a step closer to their first-ever Frizzell County Championship title with a productive first day of their match with Leicestershire at Hove.
Sussex were quick out of the blocks and dismissed Leicestershire cheaply inside seven overs.
Seven overs? Bloody hell, that is quick!

I believe we got 3 points today for the bowling. Is that right?

What do we need to do tomorrow?

We just need another 163 runs to reach 300 to collect the 3 batting points needed to confirm that

SUSSEX ARE CHAMPIONS

Thanks. I just wish my Dad had lived long enough to see this.

When he came out of the Navy he worked for CVA (who became Kearney & Trecker) at their original factory in Eaton Road.
Every tea break and lunchtime, in summer, they went on the roof to watch the cricket.

He was most disgruntled when they closed that factory down and moved everybody to Hollingbury.

To be absloutely serious for a moment.

This whole season has delighted me. we haven't the 'best' side in the league but we've got the best hearts. A team full of players working for eachother and loving it at the same time.

All praise to Mushy but its not been all about him, no matter what anyone says. We've had a team full of stars, Chucker with his wickets, Good win, Monty, Cottey, Ambrose, Prior and RMJ with the runs, Adams with the captaincy (f*** all of you who thought his declaring was wrong;) ) Great support from Lewry, Billy and RMJ again with the ball and everyone who played a part this year.

RIP Umer Rashid, this one is for you:wave:

Sussex deserve this for the undying support amongst the members who love this club to bits.

BIG UP YOURSELF SUSSEX!!

And we're going up to win the cup....

FOR SSUUUSSSSSSEEEEEEXXX BBYYYYY TTHEE SEEEAAAAAAAAAAA:clap:

ps I'm sure he's loving this now Yorkie:)

I echo everything that Chappers said, this has been a phenomenal team effort by everyone: no weak links. There have been nine different century makers this season - that shows how spread out the runs have been. And all the plaudits have been for Mushy but all the bowlers have chipped in.

I'm going to be there by 10.00 tomorrow to get a decent seat and I have a bottle of champers ready for the moment.

I just wish my dad who was such a devoted supporter of Sussex and who taught me to love the game had lived to see this. That will be only sad note for me in a day of otherwise unbridled joy.

Gutted to miss Mushy's 100th today! Had the live scorecard going on my computer but was surrounded by boring, boring Bedfordshire people who just didn't seem to understand the need to jump around and cheer!
:clap2: :bounce: :bounce: :clap2:

But tomorrow is another day! A morning arrival planned at Hove. I'm bringing the camera but who's bringing the curry pringles?
