Super Furries Yay! Zutons yawn. Still Beachdown is best for all the great Brighton bands there and some absolutely killer Mojitos.

Saw the Super Furry Animals headlining at Bestival the other year and they were excellent live, may be worth hedging on a hot summer this year and investing in a ticket.

Sweet. Though I don't really want to go to Beachdown unless I can wangle a freebie.

They must be playing more festivals as they have a new album out, fingers crossed for Secret Garden Party and Bestival.

Would love to see the Furries live at Beachdown, but £95 for that line up is terrible value.

I'll buy a ticket when they confirm that there will actually be something to do past midnight each night

Would love to see the Furries live at Beachdown, but £95 for that line up is terrible value.

I did'nt go last year, but would it not be the only festival where you could in theory (free bus timetable depending) sleep in your own bed (residents of local area only).

As for the £95 depends on how many bands you want to see, the trouble with festivals is Supper Furry Animals may clash with the other bands you want to see; i.e The Fall, Blockheads, Prince Buster and Norman Jay-good times set. You often also only get a short set. Would cost £95 to see just these bands on seperate tours.

Current announced line up is;

Saint Etienne
Grandmaster Flash
The Fall
James Taylor Quartet
Dreadzone
The Blockheads
Secret Affair
The Sunburst Band
Acid House Brass Band by The Williams Fairey Brass Ensemble
The Apples
Nostalgia 77 Octet
Lack of Afro
Snowboy & The Latin Section
The New Mastersounds
Jazz Cotech Dancers
The Fantastics!
Prince Buster
Sugarhill Gang
Norman Jay
Joey Negro
Gilles Peterson
Jazzanova
Tru Thoughts

What? Oh f*** THAT then. I'll not go to a festival that doesn't have 24 hour entertainment (or at least summat to do until the wee hours). GAY.

That IS true.

I think I'll just wait for any other announcements of where they are playing. A tour annoucement must be on it's way too.

Well it was just more than mildy irritating wandering aimlessly around the huge site having EVERYONE ask you where everything is going on, only to have to admit that indeed you yourself were also seeking the entertainment and had, up to this point, been very much unsuccessful.

When you are used to Glastonbury's and Glade's where there is no need to sleep at all it does come as a bit of a shock to find that you are at a loose end come midnight. I guess maybe it would have helped if the weather hadn't been so bad, which forced people to seek shelter.

I'm not having a go though, I thought it was a very good festival last year, on the whole, I am just suggesting it could be improved with a bit of work

After the initial excitement I might try and wait for SFA to announce a tour.

Other than Grandmaster Flash and Abi from The Zutons there isn't much else there to make me want to go.

BOUND to be full of stuck up little students who think they are 'IT'...

Managed to get an early bird ticket just now - & (I think) £30 free drinks voucher for being one of 1st 500!

Also, heard it from a friend of a friend/close confidante of the band (yes I'm showing off) that SFA will be doing other festivals but won't be touring with the new album. In case that's of any interest...
