It's become that, hasn't it? Not the original intention, but Britain has changed a great deal since the inception of the poppy. We are in a state of play whereby public figures are being questioned as to why they are not wearing a poppy.

Yes, the only people politicising the issue are those who question why somebody doesn't wear one.

I always give money but don't choose to wear any type of badge for any charity proclaiming the I have. I find it a bit odd.

I find it odd being given something in return after a donation odd anyway.

I do get involved with a bit of fundraising for Macmillan Nurses. That usually involves making cakes and makes sense because the 20 quid I spend turns into 80 etc.. But I don't expect people to wear them.

You don't seem to realise that someone choosing to not wear a poppy doesn't necessarily mean they support the IRA.

Stop making excuses for the .The o.p has a relevant point .... it was mentioned in a few papers but the left on here wont aknowledge that ...doesnt fit their dogma/republican rhetoric. How many managers or players will be hounded for having socialist views ? just a left led media assault .I dont even like di canio.

People of the left who use republican rhetoric won't acknowledge the fact that someone is a republican? Errr, right.

Just because someone is a republican as far as Northern Ireland goes doesn't necessarily mean they support the IRA or its methods.
