Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford would agree to differ though as they were one of the biggest influences on their - admitedley no more than average - careers. Ever heard of them ?

Bowie seems to have been one of the first British artists to rave about them, long before Squeeze and everyone else.

John Cale though, has had a very influential time producing music.

Funny about the Velvet Underground benefactor Andy Warhol attaching himself to 'Curiosity Killed The Cat' !

I mean, talk about blowing your image as a cool cat and cultural icon.

I think they were very influential for many years and still are now to people only just discovering them.
On 'Mirrow of your Mind'' I think of the Yardbirds NMH

ah, the Yin-Yang effect in action ?

A bit like Punk being the reaction to 70's Glam and then those nice Spandau Ballet/ Madness bands beeing a reaction to punk ?

So, Difford and Tilbrook decided to make happy and uplifting songs as an antidote ?
