what a marvelous spectacle of a game. i play in the doncaster league 4, out of 8 leagues that aint too bad. we have lost a lot of players from last season. and we used to have a decent team capable of giving top division teams a good game. this season started badly with our new crop of players. we never had any friendlys and only had 2 training sessions.
our first game this season ended in a 6.0 defeat against a team that we know are very good and have had 8 pre season friendlys. so not quite as bad as the result may suggest.
last week we lost 12.2 against a team that a few of us did not think were very good. but we had quite a few 1st teamers out. this was our biggest ever defeat, we thought things cannot get any worse.
this week we lost 21.0. we started with 9 players eventually managed to scrape together 10.
next week we get a few players back from holidays, weddings abroad, work commitments etc.
question is is it time to call it a day or do we believe the few players (that have not had a pre season) that have been missing can make a differance?

i missed out, i am usually right back but we did not have a keeper in the 21. 0 defeat. so i went in the nets. before you start laughing too much, (contain yourselves) i was actuall given mom in our team after making loads of good saves. as i said, i only made lots of decent saves because they had so many shots. :nono:

we lost our first home game 7-3 against bha at falmer school today. a certain beefy missing an open goal header for them(keeps quiet about the other 2 he slotted way)

not to bad though.

no sunday league team for me to play for this season after the unfortuante end to the famous old varndeanians youth - although have signed county youth froms for hassocks, and we drew our first game 1-1 today against oakwood

I got the perfect hatrick in the BHA game! 1 Header (disguised off my chest) 1 left foot and one right foot! I'm well chuffed! Although I did miss a pen, bloody idiot.

Expect a match report soon on the website.

damn you!!!! that header was pretty class though to be fair. well done.

i was the number 12 upfront for the yellows who got knackered every time i ran! hit the post twice and missed an easy chance. your midfield was very impressive today. did you come off an started lining??? 'cos if you did thankyou for not flagging me in the last minute!! apparently i was a good 5 yards offside but ref never blew and we scored!

I played on saturday and scored in a 4v3 win. Nearly got sent off after punching someone though but the ref was leniant because he had stamped on me a few times and tried repeatedly to kick me in the head while I was on the floor.

I can well believe it - I let in 25 goals when playing Under 13's many moons ago and was Man of the Match - I don't think we ever got out of our half. And one week when I didn't play, we lost 31-0 so it wasn't me. I played up front one week and scored in our best ever result - losing 3-1!

When I used to play for Horsham Sparrows Under 14s we beat Barns Green 34v0 in a game that was only 35 minutes each half.
We then played them the following week in the cup and beat them 24v0. Our goalie touched the ball for the first time in either game half way through the first half of the second game.

Still, had a lot of respect for them turning up still knowing theyd get hammered. Nice bunch of lads and always had a full team.
