JT hasn't been on his game for a while and has never had pace, but often makes up for it with brilliant reading of the game. Who else would you have playing for us at Centre Back though? Rio and Lescott? Lescott is a liability at times... JT will at least bring some passion.

Leadership skills. He has this on the pitch for sure. Passion means everything in the national team at the moment. We need players who are going to fight for their country and give Terry Butcher / Stuart Pearce kind of passion for england. I'm not saying Terry is of teir magnitude in that respect at all - i'm talking in general now. We do need to build for the future, but still need some old heads out there too - espacially when there doesn't seem to be the young talent in certain positions at the mo...
