* England under-21s strolled to a 4-0 victory against nine-man Austria at The Amex tonight.
* A crowd of 20,003, the highest under-21s attendance for 13 months, saw Stuart Pearce's Young Lions record a ninth straight victory without conceding a goal in their last outing before the European Championships in Israel in the summer.
* They had help from Swiss referee Adrien Jaccottet, who reduced the luckless Austrians to nine men by showing controversial red cards to both keeper Richard Strebinger and right-back Patrick Farkas for handling offences*either side of the interval.
**Jonjo Shelvey, substitutes Marvin Sordell and Josh McEachran (penalty) and man-of-the-match Connor Wickham were on target for England.
* See tomorrow's Argus for a full match report.
