What's the most bizzare game you ever attended?

I can remember one from the early 80's under Mike Bailey that takes the cake. We were meant to have a home league game but for some reason it got called off and the club managed to replace it with a friendly against Luton. At half time loads of people left the North Stand and went to sit in the Lego Stand where they sang a chorus of "Michael Bailey's Purple Army" throughout the whole second half.

Does anyone remember this or was I taken, Sliders style, to a parrallel universe for a weekend ???

Possibly the Watford game, where everyone cheered the Palace goal...."one nil, to the Palace scum"!

Fixtures or not, it remains the Battle of Longford. And always will.

Explain - is this fixtures?

I think he was worried about an influx of threads...

What is the strangest....:blah:

:D

Strangest game was when I found myself celebrating the Stoke goals at the end of last season and chanting ROOOOOONEY! ROOOONEY! Not that strange compared to your on GB, but strange nonetheless.

Ah - it was those threads which triggered off my memories of this particular game.

Apologies for starting a football thread on a BHA message board :dunce:

Just consider yourself lucky that Bozza is off having his cock surgically enhanced (or whatever) and is absent right now, or you'd be in for a lengthy ban...

The replayed York City game in 96 (?)after the first one was abandoned due to the fact the goal posts were ripped down.

Replay was on a Thursday afternoon I think when most fans were at work. Hardly anyone there and we lost 3-1.

I remember a league cup game (I think) against Birmingham some time in the 80's. It was so foggy that you couldn't see beyond the Half way line from the North stand. We had to rely on the sound coming from the south stand to work out what was going on!!

There were about 8 of us in our section of the North stand for that game (the one where all the singing used to come from) and before kick off we were warned by stweards that if they saw any pushing we would be kicked out of the ground. We spent the next 10 mins pushing at thin air.

Oh and That Palace Game.

It was Reading in about 1993.

Longford was strange, but actually very funny.

Plymouth away in 1994, about 100 of us there, just before Christmas, Codner scored from 45 yards, Akinbyi did a summersault when he scored, police had to keep us in the ground as the local were hiding in the trees outside the away end and the Fatty Taxman got locked in the ground after the rest of us had been allowed out.

For me it was Chester away a few years ago, turned up late, missed our first goal, went for a piss, missed our second goal, so I witnessed a win without seeing any of our goals !
