With Cashin getting pelters from certain posters for not being the reincarnation of Franz Beckenbauer, and the thread about our worst ever singing, who started their Albion career as a perceived liability, but became, if not fan’s favourites, then valued members of the team.

2 spring to mind for me, in the present squad, Solly, I remember people giving the opinion that he was too lightweight, and would never make it, and JPVH, he had a bit of a hard start for us, and a few had written him off as not good enough.

Kurt Nogan. Was awful in his first few games.

On NSC for over two decades...
John Crumplin has to be worth a shout, arrived at the Albion as a terrible winger, but a change of position to full back saw a definite improvement - especially against John Barnes at Anfield as I recall?

Think the definitive has to be Guy Butters.
I was going to say this.

I was convinced he was a massive dud. But then he really showed his worth.

For every player who starts bad and comes good, there are probably a couple who start bad and stay bad. But the club's performance in this respect recently means they have earned my trust

How is a midget slow CB ever going to make it in the PL? He hasn’t made an appearance since his debut says it all.
There are other threads for slagging off current players.
