I was wondering what the strange squiggle is at the start of the players names on the shirts in the EFL this season.
Turns out, it is a charity thing for this season:
"That bit next to players’ names on the back of shirts in the Football League this season isn’t just a squiggle.
The EFL has made a change to the way numbers and names appear for the 2018/19 season as part of its support for mental health charity Mind.
The charity’s logo will be printed on the back of all shirts worn by players in the Championship, League One and League Two. It is joined to the first letter of the player’s name, similar to how it is usually attached to the word Mind.
All 72 clubs are backing the initiative, which was announced in April."
