Spread Betting Prices Are Out

I usually like a pre-season spread bet on the points haul for the season and the prices are out today.

Quite like the look of buying on Swindon, seem a bit under-priced. Also like the way we're priced above Charlton although find that a bit unlikely really.

Any other revelations?

Can you give a quick lesson on how spread betting works please. As it's not something I have a go at yet. Cheers

It's pretty simple, like the stock market you have a buy and sell price. In this instance you are betting on the number of points we will get in the season. Taking Brighton as an example if you think we will get more than 71 points you would buy and if you think we'll get less than 69 you'd sell.

Be warned it can go massively wrong/right depending on you stake.

Say you are the eternal optimist and you think we are going to win more than 71 points so you buy at £5. Every point we win is then worth £5 to you (so win £15, draw £5).

Lets say we go crazy and win the league with 91 points that means you would have won 91 fivers minus the initial spread giving you a make up of 20. 20 X £5 = £100 win.

However lets say we have another of a shocker of a season and only score 51 points you make up would be -20. -20 X £5 = £100 loss.

The other thing to bring into account is betting is done within running so if we get off to a flyer our position will move out (i.e. the two figures will increase), likewise if we get off to a stinker they will go down. You at any time can sell your position back to the company at the price at that time. If you have bought you sell it back at the sell price. If you have sold the company buys back at the current buy price.

I don't punt with sporting but I'm guessing the prices will be pretty similar across the board. 69 - 71 on us seems no value what so ever.

Swindon only seem under priced because they've got a few quid. Orient seem the value to me. They've got a cracking manager proven by the way they finished the season last time out.

Tranmere are for sale on e-bay and John Barnes managed to make Celtic lose to Inverness Cally. They could be pony next year.

Exeter could do a Hereford. I'd sell.
I'd buy on Swindon but the fact Cox has gone could be a pocket wounder.

Overall nothings jumps out as a top bet.

I expect that MK Dons will finish quite a bid lower this season, around 10th. They haven't made any signings that i am aware of and puncheon's loan ended and has gone back to Plymouth, and i am guessing they will want to keep him.
Also not sure on them taking Ince back, doubt it will work for him the second time round, which is something we know about all too well

I think your right about MK Dons even though SSN are reporting that Puncheon has gone back to MK Dons on another years loan.
