has anyone else noticed that most footballers spit every time the game stops,whats up with them?watching the rugby today and didn't see one player spit

Seen a fair number of incidents of spitting at people on a football pitch. Causes a brawl almost everytime too - disgusting!

The thing that annoys me is when I see managers at the side of the pitch spitting!

I always had a huge build up of phlegm when I played, used to just put vapour rub on my shirt and would usually be fine. You do see a lot of players with those during the winter. I think the sideline and player tracking cameras pick up the spitting nowadays when before it probably wasn't noticed.

Feel sorry for the groundsmen having to wade through a quagmire of ooey gooey phlegm after each game. Hope they have decent health insurance!
