At the bottom of my road there is a small parade of shops.
They are as follows:
Curry, Bike shop, empty, curry, kebab, newsagents, chinese, off license.
Across the road there is an Uncle sams and a pizza place.

And they moan that poeple are becoming obese.

Clapham High Street is worse, ok if you want to eat something but not if you want to buy something like a paintbrush.

I've just walked to Sainsburys (about 10 minute walk) and passed

3 Indian
2 Spanish
2 Chinese
1 Thai
1 Brazillian
1 French
1 Mexican
1 Italian, 4 Pizzaria
1 Greek
1 Polish
1 Fish and Chips
1 Kebab Shop
1 Belgium
2 Greasy Spoons and a Nandos, a MacDonalds and a KFC

There are more, but that's just the ones I pass.

Clapham, I love Belgian food, what is the Belgian restaurant like, have you checked it out.

Personal Belgian favourites are either Mussels or Rabbit with prunes.

Belgos - a London Chain, is there one in Brighton ?

ok - amazing range of beers as you would expect. This has a small restaurent but goes to town in the beers.

It's a "Belgo Biero - drome", full of w*nkers, not my type of place really. Essentially drinking trendy special brew. I like Belgium beers, but if you knock too many back.. well, and that's the market they go for. Young professionals looking to get sh*tfaced.

Last time I went in there the food was bad. I know it was bad because I've had the same meal in two other Belgos.

Go the original one in Camden (just outside on Chalk Farm Road) - much better and a proper restaurent.

Cheers Clapham, I live in Gloucester, we don't have a Belgian restaurant here, though there is pretty much everything else, including a reasonable Bangladeshi a few minutes from home. I lived in Belgium for a year and a half and have to say that once you get over the idea of eating chips and mayo the rest of their cuisine is pretty fine, a bit like French but less pretentious.

People tend to slag the Belgians off as boring but most who do that have never been there, a country that can make so many good beers, such fine chocolate and have that good a cuisine is OK in my book.

Many a night out there. My girlfriend then (and now) used to live there about 15 years ago. We met at University

Er, yes, quite. Do not under any circumstances drink Chimay Blue on an empty stomach. I did at a colleague's leaving do. I won't go into details, except to say that I had quite a cleaning job to do in my flat the next day.
