They wanted pretty much every British manager in the Premiership. Why tap up Bruce and O'Leary, they were never gonna leave their clubs for the Toon. Brum and Villa both have good sides now built by the managers that were there, why would they leave for Newcastle when they've both got a better chance of getting into Europe that Newcastle this season?

Souness does seem to have made a habit out of following Kenny Dalglish

Expect a move to Celtic before he finishes his career

Just one question though...

Why would anyone want Souness? His record is hardly that impressive and just look at all the players he's flogged off at Blackburn: Duff, Dunn, Cole (for nothing!) and who has he brought in? A division 3 striker (although admittedly I am a fan of John Stead), Scotland's captain and a 31 year old Spanish 'never-made-it-as-an-international'.

Furthermore he is an arrogant hothead constantly getting himself in trouble with the FA, his players and the fans.

To be honest I think he's done Blackburn a favour by quitting.

And if that disgraceful Shepherd of Newcastle feels Souness is the man for the Magpies then it'll serve him right when it all goes tits up for them.

I've lost my sympathy with Newcastle. I can't see them getting any glory in the near future and if I was a Geordie I'd be boycotting the Park til their chairman was ousted.

Souness could well surprise us all at Newcastle

To start with the likes of Dyer and Bellamy will soon all be put in their place and know who is in charge

The first 5 a side tackle by Souness on Dyer will soon set the tone of who is in charge!

A few overpaid premiership millionaires will soon have to start working for a living again!

Besides if he wins them only the Coca Cola cup or whatever it's called these days he will be made an honorary geordie for life anyway

Football fans can be a fickle lot at times!
