So when does the LIBIDO give up the ghost?

It's a newly discovered medical FACT that watching Rom Coms can TOTALLY destroy the male libido.

It's a newly discovered medical FACT that watchers of films regularly lose all interest in the opposite sex and suffer from impotency.

Tell me about it! My wife's libido is off the scale, i've had to take her dogging to satisfy her insatiable sexual appetite.

I get some well earned sleep on the back seat, while she gets smashed all over the bonnet.

Take her home, rinse and repeat.

This post sums up why I love NSC! :)

'spose it depends what you've got to work with. After all, you're more likely to go for a drive in a Ferrari than an Allegro.Get my drift?

The libido is mostly in the mind. Its a myth that it flags when you get on a bit. It may seem to do so, bit this isn't intrinsic, or related to testosterone levels. Some people simply were never much drawn to rumpy pumpy in the first place, and getting on in years provides a handy excuse to desist. A bit like watching live music. Or going to the football. Some people once did it only because everyone else did. The tyranny of yoof.

Being able to get a boner, however, is age related.

Separately, the ability to 'stay focused' on the job at hand can dwindle with familiarity.

I think that in the past (of human history) for blokes, indiscriminate shagging was for the warriors, and the rest settled for whoever they could persuade. Then we died. The warriors in war, and the rest of us from disease or starvation. Which is why we invented religion.

Now its all different. We have health, a degree of wealth, and choice, and in particular, the freedom to be 'diverse'. Several chaps I know, of my age (55) are happy to be free of all the obligations that come with relationships (however . . . brief) and have turned down numerous opportunities to get their leg over. Probably easier if they have enough 'memories' to satisfy their esteem (and provide readily-accessible material for a hand shandy), and they don't feel that they have missed out in any respect.

The sad situation is if you are happily coupled up, and the missus is still up for it, and scrubs up well, and you are feeling likewise, and the old blood flow redistribution is letting you down. But, that ain't a libido issue . . . that's medical.

After making love to my wife, I laid there with a sad look on my face. She asked me what was wrong. I said as I'm getting older I feel my faculties are deserting me, my youthful appearance is waning and my hair is receding and losing it's colour. She cuddled me and told me she would still love me. Great, I said that has made me feel better....lets make love.
Again? she asks, we've done it twice in the last hour!
For Gods sake I screamed. See what I mean about getting older, my memories going!!!

There are little blue pills for this sort of thing. However they are quite expensive, so make sure it's going to be worth it.

That's the medical / mechanical bit, OP is talking about the will and desire.

Yes, I agree. Two elements, ability and desire. The desire is not always up to the male, so if the ability has gone Viagra and others will help with the mechanical bit, thus encouraging the desire. Chicken and egg thing.
I don't believe desire ever disappears completely, in as much as you would never desire any person ever again until you stopped breathing.
