and I agree that the line up looks poor for V. Can't decide between 2000 trees or Green Man this year.
So if V is so bad, what are the good ones this year? (I love 2000 trees)

Rock out at Download or Reading. Myself and the good wife will be found in the midst of a mosh-pit sometime in June.

Benicassim looks decent, as does Isle of Wight. Reading a bit touch and go, personally wouldn't mind going to V.

dates are important too. Green Man is late August. 2000 trees in July. Fixture list out late June.

Bestival is always good Bestival 2013 - Tickets, Line-up, News, Info - Coming Soon. The bill is always strong & excellent for those who's musical taste isn't too genre specific. A real effort is made on making the site look beautiful and the food is in the main excellent. It's just a bit of a nightmare to get there and back.
Festival no.6 is in an awesome setting, last years bill was exceedingly strong as well Festival Number 6 - Festival Number 6
Secret Garden Party is more about the experience than the music but is a brilliant festival in a brilliant setting Secret Garden Party 2013, to be fair there are far more name acts this year than there have been before.
Supernormal is a small up and coming festival that is cheap. The bill last year was really well crafted http://www.supernormalfestival.co.uk/.
The hipster's festival of choice ATP has also moved back to its original home in Rye with TV On The Radio & Deerhunter curating bills guaranteed to be enjoyable. All Tomorrow's Parties - Official Website
Abroad, Primavera Sound regularly has the strongest bill around Primavera Sound.
