Snooker Cue

Started playing snooker a few months ago. Play a couple of times a week and am getting breaks of 20ish quite consistantly.

I am looking to buy a cue and can only get one online as they do not sell them in Cezch.

Anyone know of a fairly good cue, priced about 80 - 100 quid. Or do I need to spend more?

Sorry to be off topic but any advice would be great.

Thanks

The most important thing is to get one that feels right, it might be £20 or £200- you should really try some out before spending considerable cash on one. There are so many variables associated with a cue that will effect your game:- weight, length, tip diameter, grip etc, I found the most useful thing was to play with as many cues as possible (luckily the club I played at had 20 odd for sale) you'll soon find the elements of the cue that suit your game and you should be able to use that detail to find something suitable online.

Don't get a one piece- they're a pain in the arse to cart around.

An expensive cue won't make you a better player. Sounds like you've got quite a lot of natural ability if you're knocking in 20-30 breaks already after only a few months. My highest is only 62 and I've played for over twenty years. Had mine since I was eleven and it's held together by dirt I think! The most important thing is how comfortable it feels, a good grip on the cue. They're like women - you need to try out a few before you find the right one.

Thanks for the advice. Love playing as much as possible. The only problem is that you cant get a cue here and im fed up of playing with the crap club cues.
Really want a slightly heavier cue but dont really know how much to pay. I hear what your saying that price does not matter but anything would be better than what im playing with now.

I will keep looking but thanks for replying.

If that is the case whatever one you buy on the net will be better than what you have, at least you will get used to playing with the same cue.
