With our supposedly big transfer budget next season, finding a proven goalscorer at this level is going to be key, but probably not as easy as it sounds (unless we have really big money).

Having been to the match tonight, think we could do a lot worse than Simeon Jackson - was very impressed when he came on. Looked quick, strong, had a good touch and had an eye for a pass - caused Virgo and El Abd lots of problems.

The fact he was through one on one within 10 seconds of coming on suggests his movement is half decent as well!

The only Championship players who will come to Withdean will be players currently out of their own team, or a proven 35 year old looking for a 2 year deal. Poyet isn't going to go for the latter option as he has already demonstrated, and there aren't many decent Championship strikers being frozen out. Apart from Cox, the only other one I can think of is professional northerner, Billy Sharp.

I've changed my mind over Jackson - he's still really young, scored loads for the two clubs he's played at, and could well get better. I reckon we'll get two flair strikers, one youngster like Jackson, and one with more experience at a higher level.

There was a story that we are interested in a 20 year old player from Montivedo on loan in Spain and is top scorer of the Spanish 2nd Div but 2 other clubs interested Man Utd and Real Zargosa. Prehaps Man U will sign him and send him ona seasons loan to us.

I personally would look at Aaron McLean at Peterborough who has asked for a transfer this season. Dickenson plus cash?
