Yes, althought I don't know the whole news story yet it would appear that he was murdered, apparently they have already arrested someone in conjunction with this. I guess in the fullness of time we will find out who the person is and what their motive was.

As ned says, I am sure that Bob would have wanted the game to continue, despite the terrible events out there.
