Sheffield Wednesday boss Chris Turner says Luton have turned down a bid for striker Steve Howard.

"Luton manager Mike Newell told me he was not for sale," Turner said.

"Howard is someone who's interested us for a while. Colin (West) and I have seen him playing for a number of years.

"I asked how much he wanted for him, but as far as Mike is concerned he's not for sale."

one performance.

I'm judging him by what Ive seen on telly and the ultimate yardstick his goals/games ratio.

The fact Guy Butters (a player u say is total shite) had the better of him every minute he was on the pitch and frustrated the bloke so much he got himself sent off tells me that this player is utter bollocks!

we will have to disagree then.

I'm interested in how many goals a striker gets (quantifiable yard stick) not how well he is playing in 1 game (subjective), simple equation goals win games.

Agree he looked crap on monday, but then again his service wasnt up to much. Have to side with dwayne and say his goals per game is the more acurate reflection of the player. I wouldnt mind him banging a few in for us.

According to the bloke who sits behind me (yes, there's always one). Micky tried to sign him for the Albion a few years back.

This kills me, having to agree with Wayne:wave: but Howard is an excellent target man and would do a good job for a Div2/3 team

I don't think Butters got the better of him at all. Howard won most of the headers, apart from the first 10 minutes the only headers Butters won were against the smaller forward. Butters can't jump.
