Remember the "worst gig you've ever been too thread"? well two bands mentioned lots are playing in Brighton this weekend....marvelous quailty PUNK stuff:
http://www.ents24.com/web/event/811193/The_Weekender_Bender.html

Sham 69 - One of the original 70s punk rock bands, fronted by the inimitable Jimmy Pursey, who achieved chart success ('If The Kids Are United' and 'Hurry Up Harry') without selling out their punk ideals.

UK Subs - Charlie Harper still leading this seminal 70s punk band. Anyone that constantly tours to the tune of 200 gigs a year deserves a mention from Khofi Annan.

Beerzone - Iain Killgallon's tuneful and fun-packing entourage from Crawley always guarantee a solid performance.

Combat Shock - Noisy anarcho-hardcore street punk band with a sense of humour and a belly full of beer!

DragSTER - Trashy rock'n'roll with a challenging, glorious punk attitude.

Yeah met Turnip a couple of times, and saw him play in the Clash City Rockers countless times, decent bloke, we should all really have a punk day out...shame this ones come too soon as I would've gone.

Did'nt now that about Lars, cool if true.

Uk subs were undoubtadly one of the best and hardest pure punk bands recall seeing them in a bar in the Lanes , Brighton, the place was smashed up afterwards (not by the band) looked a wreck days later, fortunately their music still survives but with just a small hardcore following. Jimmy was unique with Sham 69, preferred it when he told the children though to Harry or kids Utd

If Charlie Harper is still frontman with the UK Subs, he must be approaching his seventies cos he was the Old Man of Punk by a long way FIRST time around

I saw them when they played at Concorde 2 last year - they were great!! Charlie Harper is still their front man and still very energetic with green hair.
