Okay NSC... what's the current vibe about Setyres? Need to get an MOT & service done and they seem quite reasonably priced (£90 the lot)

Anyone had any good/bad experiences?

Guaranteed they'll find something wrong with and hope you'll got them to do the work. Usually shock absorbers or wheel bearings.

get the car mot done at just mots, then go on the good garage scheme website and find a decent garage with your post code!

. Nothing's changed mate. In a moment of madness, i took my car there 10 minutes after it had passed its mot, just to have a slow puncture repaired. Sure enough the bloke says the shocks are worn and in his opinion the car was Dangerous to drive! Fast forward a year and 30,000 miles and the car went straight through again.

I would go to Halfords where we just got a half-price MOT and nothing wrong with the car.

me ex-wife went to setyres a few years back for a service and guess what, they hadn't done a thing.They entice you there with the good offer and then sting you with the extras!.............I would always advise to go to the garage at hassocks station, never had any problems with them

As you're in Lancing go to Alverstone Autos on the industrial estate near the fire station (only a few hundred yards from Setyres). They're on the goodgarage scheme - look them up - always very reasonable and don't take the piss

Anyone had any good/bad experiences?

When I was about 8, the staff on the Setyres stand at the South of England Show gave me a free t-shirt with their logo on it which I wore for my school sports day and then for most of the summer holidays.

I count that as a 'good experience', and think you should trust them with your custom.

Id go with this, I took my car there on Superphils reccommendation (sp?) and found out it was the same guys who used to work at the Ford garage that used to be on the Old Shoreham Rd.

Very good guys, always helpfull and really dont take the piss.

And the main man is Albion mad! (there are some good pics on the wall in the waiting room)

I had exactly the same problem went elsewhere this year.

One thing is for certain-you cannot get an MOT and Service for £90. At best you'll get an oil change, an MOT and a few checks. Better to get a proper service and an MOT which will cost a bit more but you'll at least get value for money. Never use a fast fit place for anything to do with your car-ever.

Setyres . . . in the interest of profit.

If the person you deal with and/or does the work acually owns a slice or all the company, however miniscule, at least you know they care, or you can be very well excused for thinking they do!

small business is good business, use them.
