Search Engines... odd question

I've had to search for some fairly specific stuff recently and google just had nothing! IT seems so cluttered with rubbish that i can't find anything. I've since managed to find out the question i've mentioned but it's happened so often I want to change my home page. Any ideas? Ask Jeeves is supposed to be really good and that is where I've found the answers to lots of things (the fatehrs suggestion) but are there any others that are really good?

Do you use quote marks, + and - symbols etc when you search. also I use advance search quite often to get better results.

Still can't find anyone who manufactures those little football strips you put in your car window though :(

how odd!

this has to be an NSC challenge, i gave up after 3 attempts.

calling the club shop manager is cheating by the way.

there must be a factory somewhere, churning out tiny football kits, which is kind of magic if you think about.

all the search engine fail when you want specific niche information as they are full of results bumped up by people trying to improve thier sites rating for commercial purposes. Google is the worse offeneder and others get worse as they they gain popularity. why dont you try your search on others to see how they compare?

if you use firefox, there's an add on that gets rid of the paid for results. Another excellent engine is Wolfram Alpha - it's specific to science but jolly good fun to play around with.

dont you just call the club and ask them where they get theirs from?
