Bruno last night admitted Albion are making life too difficult for themselves.
The Seagulls had to come from behind for the third successive home game to grab a 1-1 draw with lowly Sheffield Wednesday.
Keith Andrews salvaged a late equaliser but Bruno reckoned they should not have needed a comeback.
The Spaniard, playing on his 33rd birthday, said: “The most important thing now is we have to score the first goal.
“We had a lot of chances to score and they had just one from one long ball, and for me it was unlucky.
“We played better than them. Against Bolton and Ipswich was the same.
“We had chances to score. I don’t know if it is unlucky or we have to be more clinical.”
Wednesday boss Dave Jones felt the Seagulls also had to go longball to get their goal.
He said: “It was just that one lapse of concentration.
“They were launching it and we had to deal with it.
“There was no danger they were getting frustrated and we were picking them off.
“But unfortunately one or two players ran out of legs at the end.
“They just got their goal from a sloppy throw-in and we should have dealt with it better.
“They had a lot of the ball but they weren’t really going anywhere with it and we could have caught them on the break.”
