Brighton chairman Dick Knight has hinted that the vacant manager's post at The Withdean will be filled sooner rather than later.
After two defeats in four days, Knight told the club's official website: "From the long list of applicants, my interviewing and evaluation of the main candidates for the Albion job is almost complete, and I intend to have the manager's position filled within a week.
"The past few days have shown that a successful team losing its manager through his own choice is bound to affect the players, subconsciously or otherwise.
"It happened to Reading and it's happening to us."
