Look, I think you are all being horribly unfair to Scott.
Put yourself in Scotts position. He supports Port Vale. Port Vale have not sat on top of a division since....well, someone will have to remind me, cos I'm blowed if I can remember.
This is a life-defining moment for young Scott. He has probably never seen Port Vale sitting astride at the top of a division in his lifetime. It must feel good - come on, even at this early stage of the season, you musts be able to appreciate Scotts excitement.
We have finished top of a division 2 out of the last 3 years, and it felt pretty damn good to be top in May, didn't it boys and girls. So lets not begrudge Scotts team borrowing top spot for a couple of weeks in September - spread the happiness,thats what I say. But when we get to the "business end" of the season, Vale will be put in their rightful place, and Scott can return to his excuses and bitterness as to why Brighton walked off with the Championship (again) bitch-slapped his team at Vale Park (again), while Vale walk off with 13th place.
Its already starting to happen - lets not kick a "man" when he's down, eh ? Go easy, people.
