If you lived in Glasgow or Aberdeen, wouldn't you take the opportunity to escape to Germany the second you could?

Why don't you do a little research before you mouth off, Berkshire?

Scotland's attendances for home matches in Euro 2004 qualifying:

Faroes: 40,901.
Iceland: 37,938
Germany: 48,047

average attendance: 42,295

England's attendances for home matches in Euro 2004 qualifying:

Liechtenstein: 64,931
Macedonia: 32,095
Slovakia: 35,000
Turkey: 47,667

average attendance: 44,923

How come they can travel and not cause half the trouble England scum manage?

There is actually a self-policing element to the Tartan Army. One guy got arrested for hooliganism in France 98 and he was almost lynched by the rest. There are hooligans and casuals up here but they do not associate themselves with the Tartan Army and if they did they would find life very unpleasant from the rest of us.

The Tartan Army does make a real effort to be liked and get on wiht the locals when travelling abroad, something which unfortunately can't be said about a minority of England fans who seem to regard it as there national duty to make themselves as unpopular as possible with their hosts when travelling abroad.

But all Scotlands qualifiers are played at Hampden Park capacity 60,000. Ours have been played at grounds with smaller capacities but have sold out each time!

just heard the beri vogts interview. In the background Christian Dailly is clearly heard shouting, 'Cheats!! f***ing cheats' at the germans, marvellous scenes.

Well said Jambo. The problem is with England is if it's the majority who cause trouble then the view "Most England fans are scum" is 100% accurate. If it's only a minority then the view that "Most England fans are spineless cowards who won't oppose the minority of troublemakers." is true.

I don't subscribe to the modern view which is "It's not us guv, it's all these foreigners that cause the trouble"

My point is that there is no way you can call an average attendance of 42,295 a joke.

Can't speak for Aberdeen (others have here..) but it would appear that you have not worked or lived in Glasgow ?

On another thread today, it's mentioned that it's (deservedly) in the top ten cities...
