THUNDERBIRDS!!!

They don't make programmes like it anymore. I feel this programme made me what I am today. Thank you, Scott Tracy.

There used to be no childrens' TV on Saturday mornings. In my early teens all we had was 'Saturday Club' on the old Light programme with 'pop' music compered by Brian Matthew (still on Radio 2 now).
In later years TISWAS was a good preparation for the afternoon ahead.

In the 70's, early eighties our home match ritual used to be: 18 holes pitch and putt at Rottingdean (open all year round then), breakfast in the cafe there, then in the pub before going to the match. Made home games as good days out as the awaydays! Happy times indeed!

I used to work on Saturday mornings, so it was get home, chisel the sh*t off my hands and whizz up TGG for the afternoons delights...

Very rarely went to aways because of it, but Palace away sometimes fell on a Bank Holiday Monday
