Not till the taylor report has been discussed and the reasoning for introducing all seaters changed.

Wow, that is excellent news. I expect the authorities will fight tooth and nail to prevent it and get ever more hysterical in the process (a bit like the opponents of safer standing on here), but could be the first signs of cracks in the CRC (Cliff Richard Concert) culture?

"Scotland is not bound by the law which banned standing areas in top-flight football in England........"

Yup. I bet football supporter groups in England will be watching this with interest though. If it goes Ok then may help with the campaign to get safe standing areas in England.

Like the way the report ( in the link) uses a picture of about 23 St Johnstone fans in a deserted all seater stand, thats about as safe standing as you can get. Still good news, and I wonder if it will filter south of the border. Alot of Club owners may be in favour as it will increase capacity without huge construction costs.Unfortaately I can not see it happening for many years if at all..

It would be great to have a safe standing area at the Amex, but it will never happen do to the fact that you will get a load of people saying........"I bought a seat in the North stand Nd I bloody well want to sit in it, so I won't be moving"
You know it will happen !

season tickets only valid for the season ...unless they were mad enough to pay £500 for the seating rights or whatever it was that aussie bloke was waffling on about at the presentation ? some fans might have wanted to stay at the Goldstone but if the seast arent there anymore they cant :) But if that is the case why no make the south stand the main terrace and stick away fans in one of the corners !

Is it not? Only asking as I believe all the SPL clubs have all seater grounds. Perhaps the stuff below only relates to the Taylor Report recommendations, and not the actual legislation.

The Taylor Report recommended that all top division stadiums in England and Scotland phase out their concrete terraces and become all-seater. The result of this report has seen millions of pounds spent by every top club in these countries on developing their grounds. While many fans have complained that the elimination of the standing terraces has ruined the atmosphere at matches, it seems clear that all-seater stadiums are far safer as it is easier to manage spectators if each ticket sold is for a specific seat.

Scottish Lawe is different from English law.

The Scottish Assembly can now make laws in Scotland that only affect Scotland. Does the Football Supporters Act only apply to England and Wales and so its requirements are not applicable in Scotland?

the Taylor Resport ony RECCOMENDED
